ALLEATO [al-le-à-to] is the Italian word for “ally”. Our Creative Director made the first iteration of this structured black leather box bag while in Florence for school, and it has served her well ever since. This versatile, dependable, and classic style has now been updated and remade, with improvements on the trusty original, but made with the same level of meticulous care and attention. As with all Quiddity products, this structured black leather box bag uses full vegetable tanned cowhide leather from Santa Croce, Tuscany, and is the perfect travel or everyday bag that can transition from day to night, from event to event, to go with whatever mood or style.
Unlike most commercial leathers, original vegetable tanned leather from Italy uses no chemicals or heavy metals in the production process, thus ensuring that the leather has been ethically made and is sustainable. Italian vegetable tanned leather is also world-renowned for its strength, durability, and quality. Its structured nature not only gives the bag its shape, but also helps protect what’s inside, and keeps you always looking classy and put-together. The serialized card from the Consorzio Vera Pelle guarantees the leather’s origins and quality.
Quiddity bags also feature the signature alternating coloured stitches as a hallmark of its being one hundred percent sewn by hand. This type of stitch cannot be replicated by sewing machines and it also helps make the bag sturdier and protects the seam from coming apart.
Each Quiddity bag also comes with a limited 5 year warranty. Available in Volanato (the natural un-dyed shade of brown of the leather, which will patina into a golden brown over time, with use, and with exposure to the sun and elements, and will age beautifully) and Nero (the timeless, classic black), and with thread colour combinations that may be customised. Stamping of initials also available upon request.
