They boast meticulously whipstitched design details, and are all handcrafted with Italian vegetable tanned leather from Tuscany, Italy. Unlike most commercial leathers, Italian vegetable tanned leather does not use any harmful chemicals or heavy metals. It’s a beautiful, environmentally friendly and sustainably-made leather, and it only gets more beautiful with time and use.
Leather and thread colors may be customised upon request. Browse our available thread colors here. Our leather is currently available in 2 colors. Choose between Volanato brown (which is the leather’s natural shade and will patina into a golden brown over time, with exposure to the sun, and with use), or Nero black (a classy black that is subtle but nonetheless beautiful), or a combination of the two.
All of our pieces of Via handmade Italian leather keychains feature detailed whipstitching (in a zig-zag, criss-cross, or a combination of patterns), which is all done by hand. This type of stitch cannot be replicated by sewing machines and it also helps make the item sturdier and protects the seam from coming apart. The stitches are also a beautifully crafty design on the keychain.
The standard size of our handmade Italian leather keychain fits approximately 2-3 fingers. The size may also be customised upon request (i.e. we can customize and give you a quotation for if you prefer a longer strap like a wristlet, or to be worn around the neck, etc.), for which we will provide a corresponding cost quotation.
